To begin with, power means the ability to control advanced, people’s behavior. Marginalize means “off the side” or not in a position of power. Exploit means to take unfair advantages of someone for your own benefit. A way that people with power marginalize people can be when they say that Latina women are only good at cleaning and cooking because, this make women feel less important. A way that people with privilege and power marginalize and exploit people with different ideas because of the social class they are in. The Spanish people made Native Americans work for them, the French oppressed black people, and the aztecs cut off the body parts of a warrior.

 

Next, people with power are able to marginalize and exploit people with different identities because,  they have the wealth and authority over them, to make people work for them. Document analysis #3 was about a system that the Spanish people used to marginalize and exploit people. This document is a quote from a book titled  ” Colonial America” written by Jerome R. Reich on the year 1994.  This quote says,”Although the Spanish government always insisted that Native American were free citizens who must be treated  humanely, in practice they were bought and sold, worked(literally) to death, and forced into virtual slavery”. This quote from the book supports my first sentence that states my answer to the big question because, here it says that Native Americans were not treated as humans, they were forced to work literally to death. Many times this also happens with people with not money in this country, people in a position of power force them to work, but they do not pay them the correct pay and all because  they have no voice due to the position of power they’re on. Many people in the lower class look for jobs but they’re put off the side just because people in a position of power  start to take advantages of them, and they take their properties, or belonging away for them. I imagine that some of this happened to Native Americans, the Europeans came to their land, and they took all their rights as humans being to the Native American, they took their lands, they made them work form them, they actually did lot of thing to them, and all because they felt the enough powerful to treat those Natives American any way they want.

 

To continue, people with power are able to marginalize and exploit people with different identities because  the French oppressed black people, kill them or force them to do things that did not want to do. There is a country called France, and that country has a king which is like the person that takes control of what happens in the country so, this king wrote a set of rules that give the ability to all people living in that country to control black people by taking taking advantages of them and treat them cruel for a long period of time. A document I read is a section from “The Code Noir”, a set of rules written by the king of France concerning the enforcement of order in the French American Lands. Written in March, 1685. This document says “ The masters will have the right when they’ll stimate it’s necessary, to chain up slaves and make them beat by stick and ropes”. This shows that when black people tried to escape from being slave, and the French catch them,  the french will tide them up and hurt them even more than usual,and even hurt them and their family members physically, and if they try to escape a third time they will kill them all, and this happened not only for a day the French kept on doing this for a long period of time. I think this is like mess up because this people were not being treated as humans being, The French were taking away black people’s lives, they did have that Freedom to express themselves, or do what they wanted to. They were treated as like  non-valuable things, and we’re all valuable, we’re all humans, and there should be nothing that could make us different from one another. In my personal opinion everyone that works for someone should receive the deserved payment, because they have worked their backs for it. No racism should be allowed because it put us as a community in a place that says that we’re not equal, and that we should be treated depending on our race, ethnicity, identities,etc.

 

Finally, people with power are able to marginalize and exploit  people with different identities because people part of the aztec killed this warrior, cut his body parts off, in order to offer sacrifice to their god. A document I read is a record by a seventeen year old Aztec Scribe, which was recorded and told to Friar Bernardino de Sahagun, several years later in the 1529. This document was about Aztecs sacrificing a warrior.  This document says “he is taken Chalco and dismembered in public view”. This quote supports my claim because this warriors was being killed with no fair reasons by the aztecs in front of other people that are not necessary part of their religion he was being exposed by the aztecs. The aztecs sacrifice enemy warriors to honor their god, even though this warrior was not part of their religion, they did not care about it.
